Right now we have an opportunity to rein in ICE, but we need to act fast and be loud. Funding for ICE and Border Control runs out in fifteen days. A new funding bill, currently being drafted, is our chance to put significant restrictions on ICE and ensure it doesn’t get a single penny more to enable its brutality. Because funding bills require 60 votes in the Senate, the funding bill for DHS cannot pass without Democratic votes. This is a winnable fight, but only if we can convince Congressional Democrats to hold the line.
